Reader Opinion: God looks at the heart

Dear God, I know that you look at the heart. I know that you are sending your son, Jesus Christ, back some day. I know that you do not want anyone to perish. I know that the gift of eternal life is a free gift to all those who accept Jesus Christ into their hearts and surrender their lives to you. Thank you God for that free gift. I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart when I was five years old in a little church in Barnesville with the Sunday School teacher who had been my Sunday School teacher two years in a row. She was such an amazing woman. She just passed away at the age of 99. I know that I will see her in Heaven someday.

As we approach the National Day of Prayer, which will be on Thursday, May 3, 2018, I am praying that every city in the entire United States of America and other territories will plan an event in their city. You love when your people pray together. That is what you want, right, God?

There will be a National Day of Prayer event from noon-1 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, in the Brainerd/Baxter area at Bethany Chapel, Good Samaritan Society at 804 Wright St. God, I want to thank you for helping create this important theme of unity, from Ephesians 4:3. Your word, the Bible says, "Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace." God, please help to create unity in the United States of America and all over the World. God, thank you for listening to me. I love you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
