This November Crow Wing County will have a choice of who to elect county commissioner in District 2 and it is time for a change.
That change is Bill Brekken. As former Community Services Director, I have
closely observed the County Board at work. It is time for a new voice who will be positive, who will listen with respect and who will be open to new ideas.
Community Services needs to be equipped to provide prevention/early intervention in mental health, child protection and teen pregnancy instead of being the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff.
Bill Brekken is a listener. He is respectful and willing to engage in civil discussions with citizens with opposing viewpoints, which has not always been the case with some board members.
We need an effective, proactive County Board. We need fiscal responsibility and fiscal realism. Bill Brekken will make that happen.
