Reader Opinion: Support our Cuyuna Range Youth Center

Give to the Max is Thursday, Nov. 15, and a great time to support our community's Cuyuna Range Youth Center in Crosby. The youth center has impacted many lives for over 15 years now. Originally started within downtown buildings, it has progressed to the beautiful facility constructed in 2005 next to Subway in Crosby. The programming for our youth focus on education and workforce training, leadership and cooperative training, health, life, recreation and social skills and community service with Youth as Resources. Students who attend quality afterschool programs demonstrate better performance than those who opt out. They also develop better planning skills for their life and their future. Working with the board, director, assistants and volunteers over the past seven years, I have seen these goals in action and feel that our community has shown a great investment into supporting our youth this way. We are special and unique because of the programming, adult role models and safe space we provide. This Give to the Max is a great opportunity for you to consider investing in our youth in a donation to the Youth Center. On this day or any time up to that day, your donation will be doubled up to $10,000 thanks to a Hallett Grant.

You can go to, click donate and type in Cuyuna Range Youth Center, go to our website,, mail to P.O. Box 263, Crosby or come and visit us on Give to the Max Day, Nov. 15th, where board members, volunteers and staff will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. We believe it takes a village to raise healthy (mind, body, spirit) children.

Thank you for considering investing in our youth during this Give to the Max event. Any donation will be appreciated.
