As the scoutmaster of one of the local Scouts BSA troops here in Brainerd I am very happy to say that Scouting has continued during this time. I am so glad that we have been able to find a way to continue to provide a way for our young people to do activities and work toward their goals.

Over the last several weeks we have been able to utilize online meetings to provide merit badge work and over the last weekend we even conducted a virtual campout where the Scouts used their phones, computers or tablets to connect with their fellow Scouts around their own backyard campfires with their families.

This is not how we want to #ScoutOn but we are making the best of what we have been presented with because we want to keep our Scouts safe but give them a chance to connect with their scouting community.

We are looking forward to the time when this clears and we are able to meet again and also doing service projects in our community. However, in the meantime we will find ways for #ScoutingContinues in the lakes area.

Even in this unique Scouting time we want parents to know we are happy to have your child join us on the adventure of Scouting. Visit to find a local pack or troop.
