Reader Opinion: A failure to lead

ReaderOpinionBlue.JPG

In times of a pandemic where the predicted death toll is expected to reach into the hundreds of thousands, Americans need a leader who puts the country above his own self-interest.

Instead we have a leader who publicly admits that he instructed Vice President Mike Pence to not call the governors of Michigan and Washington because their governors aren’t “appreciative” of his failed leadership. Without lifesaving equipment it’s likely that lives will be lost in those states.

If our leader fails to lead, as this one has done, and instead puts his own self-interests ahead of the country in this time of need we need a senate that will step in and force that leader to stop playing life and death games with Michigan and Washington state residents.

Do your job Senator McConnell! Lives are at stake and we’re waiting for you to act!
