Reader Opinion: A new direction

ReaderOpinionBlue.JPG

Former President Barack Obama nailed his address at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Traditionally, former presidents have not criticized their predecessors nor their successors. However, due to the extreme and dangerous rhetoric, actions, and assault on our democracy by the current occupant of the Oval Office, he felt that he had to break that tradition for the sake of the future of our country. It's probably not something he relished doing but, as a very concerned citizen, found it necessary to do so.

His whole point was that the country needs to move in a different direction, as the current direction has proven to be a recipe for disaster. Soon, we will know what direction the American people want to take.
