Reader Opinion: Asking for help is courageous

ReaderOpinionBlue.JPG

My father has struggled with narcissism. The Mayo Clinic describes it as a mental condition in which a person has an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others.

Mental health conditions are treatable, and it’s never too late to address them. My father got help with narcissism, employing both counseling and medication when he turned 90. I was so proud of him!

When Mr. Trump ran for office, I saw many of the same characteristics in his behavior. Google: Mayo Clinic/Narcissism to see the complete list. I have prayed that Mr. Trump seeks help. If he doesn’t, I pray that all of us seek help for our country by using our vote on Nov. 3 to remove him from office. His behavior is dangerous and destructive, and we can all do something about it.
