Reader Opinion: Caucuses, primary coming up


Precinct Caucuses are Feb. 25.

At the caucuses, you will:

  • Meet neighbors that share your political beliefs;

  • Make new friends and get more connected to your community;

  • Learn how to get active in 2020 campaigns to help elect leaders who share your values;

  • Meet local elected officials and candidates;

  • Help shape the your party's platform;

  • Discuss and debate local, state, and national political issues;

  • Have an impact on who your party endorses by getting elected as a delegate to future party conventions.

At the caucuses, you won't:

  • Caucus for a presidential candidate or cast a ballot in the presidential primary.

The Presidential Primary is March 3.
At the primary, you will:

  • Vote for your preferred candidate in the presidential primary.

At the primary, you won't:


  • Meet neighbors who share your beliefs, make new friends, and get connected with your community;

  • See your ideas become part of your party's platform;

  • Have a say in who the your party endorses in state and federal races;

  • Learn how to get involved in the 2020 elections to keep help your party;

  • Meet local candidates and elected officials.

Your voice is important. Attend your caucuses and vote in the primary!
