I am very disappointed that our County Board is considering a resolution for a forensic audit of our last election just because of “mob rule” where the Board was intimidated by the crowd at their last meeting. There is no credible evidence of voter fraud during our last election except rantings of our previous narcissistic President who can never admit to defeat. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham even admitted in his January 6 Senate speech there is no evidence of voter fraud. Mention was made at the last County Board meeting of a local, unscientific door-to-door canvas of the election results. I doubt if anyone would disagree with a “Trumper” at their door because who would desire an ensuing argument or tirade?
Our founding fathers did not want a democracy where there could be mob rule, so they established a representative republic where elected officials are to use common sense and wisdom and not cave into any mob pressure. I believe our County Board failed us in this regard.
