Reader Opinion: Failures of our leaders
As our great nation nears its 250th Birthday we must remain watchful, and return to God. Many nations have fallen at approximately this age. We must be thankful that we are led by a strong leader in Donald Trump. You can look around you and see many who follow Socialism and would seem to want to be a powerful leader such as Catherine the Great, the website Biography.com picks up the story which reads like a novel. She believed in absolute rule; I see Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Amy Klobuchar and many others of lesser stature who would aspire to this type of leadership which caused the fall of many great empires.
Our nation has fallen away from God and rides the slippery slope to destruction. God is not happy with our falling away. Look at the great pandemic that now grips us at a time we should be working together to make our nation strong and defeat this virus (which as the Antonine Plague hastened the disintegration of the Roman Empire) and the many other failures of our leaders. Our government has adopted a so-called cash bailout through enormous borrowing, this is laced with much pork barrel spending for things that in no way relate to the current problem. Look on line at the actual bill. This cannot go on, it will destroy us as a nation, if there's anything left after all of the liberal in fighting and failing to support our duly elected president, and try to cut him down at every opportunity.
When I hear the song "God Bless America" I think why should he? Israel was the only nation to enjoy a covenant relationship with God which was exiled because of its unfaithfulness.
