Jan. 24: “It will all work out well.” Jan. 30: “We have it well under control.” Feb. 10: “Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, this miraculously goes away.” Feb 26: “I don’t think it is going to come to that, especially with the fact we’re going down, not up, we’re going very substantially down, not up.” Feb. 28: “This is their (the Democrats) new hoax.” March 4: “Based on a lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this, because a lot of people will have this and it is very mild. They will get better very rapidly.” Again and again Trump denied, deflected and dismissed expert advice. The world experience with this virus obviously didn’t apply in the USA. As a result, we are months behind where we need to be. Doctors, nurses and health care workers don’t even have very basic PPE like gloves and masks and a national testing program is yet to be developed by this administration. South Korea identified their first COVID-19 patient the same week the U.S. did. They put testing in place immediately. While we performed 100 tests, South Korea was handling 20,000 per day. Needless to say, they really do have the pandemic under control. Where are we? This is horrifically inexcusable. Not surprising given the “experts” in charge, but totally unacceptable! Scientists should be in charge and nonexperts must listen. Wake up America.
