Reader Opinion: Have a wonderful school year
With the start of a new school year, I would like to wish everyone a great and fruitful educational experience. All of us will help determine how wonderful the year is.
Students, you are the most important piece in deciding how well this year goes for you. Practice these thoughts to help you achieve the most you can. Success comes in cans not can'ts. Do your best and don’t sweat the rest. You never fail as long as you keep trying. Treat others like you want to be treated. Be respectful, responsible and helpful. Pay it forward and display a daily positive attitude and a commitment to yourself to get the most out of everything you do or try. Use technology, but don’t forget to also participate with hands-on learning and trying new things to expand your horizons.
Educational staff, thank you for doing the most meaningful and important job of any, educating our children! Molding the minds, body and spirits of all these young folks will also help determine many of their future careers and steps in life. The impact you will make by motivating each child and helping them achieve more than they believe they could is exemplary. The care and concern you give to every one of your students will long be remembered and appreciated. You will likely be a hero to many of your students.
Parents and community members, let’s remember to support our children with their educational experiences by listening to them, volunteering, praising all of their efforts and being there for them all the time. Ask them questions about their day and offer help whenever we can. We want to make sure they feel safe and confident and, above all, we want them to know we love them and are proud of them.
