Voters have a choice at the Aug. 9 House District 6B primary election. It’s important to check report cards before making that choice. Voters expect of those seeking the privilege to represent them to support their values and respect their judgment.

Mr. Doug Kern is on the primary ballot because he already failed miserably to gain the endorsement and support of the vast majority of Crow Wing County Republicans. They overwhelmingly awarded him a failing grade to run as a Republican.

The endorsement process requires at least a 60% vote by the delegates. Not only did Mr. Kern fail on the first ballot, but delegates voted overwhelmingly in favor of his opponent. The actual vote count was not publicly released to save Mr. Kern further embarrassment.

Common sense conservatives don’t give individuals with failing grades a free pass.
