Reader Opinion: Lubke devoted to helping

Jon Lubke has devoted the rest of his life to helping others in many ways.

Let me join the broad based support of Jon Lubke for county commissioner.

Jon successfully retired from the business world in his 40s, then devoted the rest of his life to helping others — in many ways.

One is Habitat for Humanity. Jon has spent countless hours serving on the board; then negotiating in acquiring access; supervising crews (participating himself) in removing usable appliances, cupboards and building materials from houses to be demolished, thus salvaging millions of dollars of value for our whole community.

At the Habitat Store in Brainerd or any Habitat project, just ask — everybody knows Jon, and favorably so.

The other is our Church in Pequot, where we relied on Jon to chair our Call Committee selecting a new Pastor. Jon spent incredible hours, displaying discernment, complete integrity, and confidentiality in leading us to an excellent unanimous result.
