I attended the school board forum last Tuesday and was impressed with the quality of every candidate. While I couldn’t pick a singular winner, I am lucky that I don’t have to, since I can vote for three. Nystrom offers board experience, candor and an unquestionable love for Brainerd. Boyles brings common sense, business experience and a strong commitment to inclusiveness for all views. Shogren has deep roots in the district, a track record of service within our community and a passion for kids. These three shined the brightest for me, and it excites me to think of a school board that blends their broad and different yet very unique talents and experiences. They’ll be the ones I am voting for, and you should consider doing so as well. Don’t take my word for it, watch the forum yourself and see if you agree.
