This is in response to the guest opinion letter on “white supremacy, racism, violence.” I am a senior citizen, white and have lived in different parts of this country. I have never considered myself better than any “people of color.” Nor have I ever been told that I am smarter or more important than “people of color.” I don’t know anyone who identifies with the KKK, white supremacist groups or any group that looks down on “people of color.” While I am aware that prejudice does exist on both sides, I believe our country has come a long way to make things fair for all people. The letter states that George Floyd’s brutal death was at the hands of “evil systemic racism.” From what I understand it was at the hands of one police officer.
