For some reason, our Republican leaders thought it was OK in the worst of the pandemic to hold a post-election party without wearing masks or distancing. Of course some, like our Sen. Paul Gazelka, became ill. Others will undoubtedly become infected as a result, hopefully none will die. But, they didn’t stop with this incredibly poor lack of judgement. Republican leaders only notified members of their own party of the infections, not other members of the Legislature and those that work there. This shows a disgusting lack of morality at the least, and no excuse will suffice. We should all be ashamed to have a person who acts in this manner as our senator. I wish Gazelka a speedy recovery, but then he needs to apologize and resign.
