The international image of America (USA) is still about democracy and opportunity, even though that image has been somewhat tarnished during the last few decades by the actions of the CIA, our continuous wars, and the continuing dominance of our economic strength. However, that idealism is still there, just under the surface.
Domestically the idealism of America has been taken over by an economic elite which has quietly subverted democracy and co-opted many of the institutions of society and governance, replacing democracy with the domination of radical capitalism. Elections have been tainted and corrupted by the unlimited access of big money, and they now have a political party, the Republicans, serving their needs.
Democracy, which is to serve the people, is being stealthily replaced by an alien ideology making wealth a priority over people.
They will not steal your wallet or your large screen TV, nothing that obvious. They will, by controlling the legislative process, change the rules by which you live and work so that your wallet will get thinner as prices go up and wages continue to stagnate, and you won’t be able to afford that new TV.
This economic elite controls the economy and can make it dance to any tune they choose to play. And that control can be made to support or subvert any political administration depending on whether that administration is serving the interests of the economic elite.

If you want to vote for the party that wants to redefine America as an oligarchy, then vote for Republican candidates. To preserve America as a democracy then you must vote for the candidates of the Democratic Party.
If you don’t vote in this election, you put our future as a democratic nation at risk.
