The key qualities for a judge are to be fair and impartial, nonpartisan and objective, and experienced in all aspects of the law. Charles practices all of these traits with integrity as well as the demonstrated care and due diligence for all of his previous clients which earned him the rare designation of “Criminal Law Specialist” by 17,000 of his peers of the Minnesota Bar Association. This all translates into his interpretation and treatment of the law.
His experience over 30 years, especially in criminal defense, clearly supports his appointment through the governor selection process, and his recent performance as a sitting justice warrants his reelection.
