Reader Opinion: Try hockey

Research shows that successful kids are busy and engaged. This fall would be a great time to consider introducing your son or daughter to a sport that had a strong impact on my family. We were lucky to be part of the Brainerd Amateur Hockey Association and enjoyed years of fun and met quite a number of great people through local hockey programs. Watch for any opportunity to get on the ice. The Try Hockey for Free Program Sept. 24 and 25 is free and is a great place to start. Go to Brainerdhockey.com to sign up. Hockey is a great way to enjoy and get through a cold Minnesota Winter.
