Reader Opinion: Vote Elisa

Elisa Korentayer is the leader I want making decisions for my children’s school — a person who sees and supports the whole child.

Can we all agree that public education goes beyond the basics of reading, writing, and math? Several students receive additional support such as counseling, social skills, behavior support, speech, occupational therapy, or physical therapy. We need a board member who sees the whole child and their individual needs. We need a board member who is going to be in the classrooms talking with teachers about their concerns and how she can help. There are no simple answers to multifaceted issues. Elisa looks past surface level assumptions and instead communicates with team members about possible solutions. She is approachable, eager to learn, and ready to speak. Many kids have complex concerns and we need somebody who actively listens, thinks critically, and is able to turn needs into solutions. Elisa Korentayer is the leader I want making decisions for my children’s school — a person who sees and supports the whole child.
