Reader Opinion: Wear masks properly

You need to be sending the right message — "a picture is worth a thousand words.". Cover up Minnesota/Brainerd lakes area!!

The photography used in the Brainerd Dispatch has always been "top-notch." My issue is with photos of people not wearing their face masks properly. Very troubling was the photo from the CLC (Central Lakes Conference) basketball game in the Jan. 27th issue. All five players were wearing masks (on their chins). It may have been a great action shot, but does not convey the "action" needed to keep our young athletes (and our community) safe.

I understand that during outdoor activities face masks are less likely to be worn. However, when people are in a photo in our local paper and are wearing a face mask, it should be worn properly covering their mouth AND nose.

You need to be sending the right message — "a picture is worth a thousand words.". Cover up Minnesota/Brainerd lakes area!!

If photos are used with the improper use of face masks, it may be a wakeup call for everyone to be more diligent. The Dispatch should then add a disclaimer, noting their support of proper face mask usage.
