For many years I enjoyed hearing Lon Schmidt on the radio as he informed the lakes area of the news of the day. It was refreshing to hear his connection with the people of the lakes area and hear his passion and level of care for the community.
We, the people of Baxter, now have a chance to bring his conservative values and level of care and passion to the city council of Baxter. I encourage all of my fellow Baxter residents to write in Lon Schmidt on your ballot when it comes time to vote for city council. Lon will bring a new voice to the council and it's great that he is not a politician. Lon is one of us, who is now feeling the desire to serve his community.
