Here it is 10 p.m. on a Saturday night and we have our doors and windows open enjoying the fresh air and solitude of the north woods. And as usual, the weekenders or tourists have come up and are shooting off firecrackers across the lake, scaring the animals and disturbing the tranquility of the forest. I don't understand the thrill of making loud noises in the woods at night. Must be a city thing.
