Have you ever known a person who is patient, kind, humble and extremely talented? I do. Her name is Virginia Bender.
Many years ago, 70-plus to be exact, Virginia began to accompany the Presbyterian church congregation in Brainerd as the church organist for Sunday services.
Through the years her music has been heard at more baptisms, weddings and funerals than she can count.
Many pastors have come and gone but one person remained steadfast and faithfully continued to play the piano and organ for Sunday worship. Virginia's diligence, dependability and commitment strikes awe in those of us who know her.
The person who has brought music to our community for over 70 years is truly amazing. Thank you, Virginia, you are my music idol.
