Reader Opinion: Abortion and guns

Luke 22:36d, "..., and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one."

Jeremiah 17:7 "Blessed is the man ( Nation ) that trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord." Amen.

This Independence Day will be a little sadder because the so called Supreme Court threw out Texas abortion law. I don't understand why those women are so happy by this, all the law did was literally to protect women patients in abortion clinics by having doctors with admitting privileges in a hospital within 30 miles of the clinic if a complication comes up. To have this safeguard removed is something to cheer about? I don't get it! God help us as a nation. With each abortion, may those women know they can still be forgiven, God lost his son Jesus, and just like he rose from the dead, he's here today ready to give if it's asked for! Amen.

The other issue America is struggling through this year is gun control. Just those words make us hackle (look it up)! Maybe they could change the term to gun regulation or guidance, at least that would put "control" back to us and not feel we're giving it away! One last thing, in response to the letter "End the madness," are you sure you want to mention Australia? Ask those poor folks how it feels to be unprotected in their home when someone comes in who is not abiding by the law and has a gun? Crime went up in the double digits!

Happy and blessed Birthday, America, we're praying for you! Amen.
