On a summer-like Sunday afternoon in April the Legacy Chorale presented "Music of the Night" at Tornstrom Auditorium.
There is a quote from William Merrill that says, "There is nothing in the world so much like prayer as music is."
The Legacy Chorale did not disappoint us as their hauntingly beautiful selections chamred the audience.
In 2001 Sarah Aamodt, the conductor, realized her dream of starting the chorale group in the lakes area. Today, in their 14th season, the singers volunteer their time from 19 different communities. Approximately one fifth of the 51 members have been with the choir from the very beginning.
A lot of work goes on behind the scenes of any musical performance. I had no realization how much effort was required until I became a Legacy board member years ago. Besides the hours of practice and the dedication of driving from many distant towns, these steadfast members contribute their own money to be a part of this group.

For me, music is what feelings sound like. The harmony of a chorale group such as the Legacy reminds me of an organ of voices. The melodious blending of their voices can wash away the dust and stress of everyday life.
We as a community should feel very fortunate to have such a talented group of people volunteering their time to give us their gift of singing!
Thanks to the singers, conductor, instrumentalists and board members for bringing such magnificent concerts to the lake area.
We are all grateful.
