If you are over 65 and receive a threatening phone call from the IRS, it's a scam. The IRS does not call. And, as I found out, you cannot call them either.
If you get a call from somebody who says they are with Medicare and the back brace (or whatever) you wanted has been approved but you must send some of the cost for the device ... or medication ... in advance. Try to get as much information as you can, while giving none of your own information. Then hang up and call Medicare to report the call.
I hope this will save anyone who reads this from losing money to a scam artist. I would like to see them all behind bars, where they belong.
