Hate filled rhetoric, hate filled words directed at that which is different, hate filled words directed at religions fuels rage, souls wither, people die. It is time to stop and search our souls and put our own selfish needs to be right and do what is right. Legislators are not elected to legislate discrimination they are elected to promote welfare of all. We all need living wages, we all need health care, we all want our children to have a level playing field, it does not matter what our color is or our personal choices for life partners are what matters is that we are all human beings with struggles and successes.
Living in poverty is not a success for anyone. People unable to access health care is not a success for anyone, promoting poverty is not a life success for anyone. We say we want a great nation yet we have those in power who choose to balance their power on the backs of others. We have had another hate crime and we really are all accountable for stopping the hate. We can not do that if all certain legislators want to do is legislate discrimination and spread their version of morality. We have those in the twilight of their lives who will need care, we have children that will thrive and have chubby cheeks if their families have a living wage. Hate, rage unprecedented access to assault rifles kills; we need to start cleaning up our souls and face who we are becoming here. I think the legislators need to step up and stop playing with our lives, start doing what is within their realm; they are not God, they are there supposedly to build opportunity for those living in this country.
