This is a short lesson for the opponents of building a wall on our southern border. I keep hearing (and reading) the words spoken by Ronald Reagan about the Berlin wall. He said, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Therefore, they believe that President Reagan was against walls. Untrue. He had a deal with the Democrats that he would agree to something they wanted, and he did. As his son recently said, "he's still waiting." Additionally, the Berlin wall was not built to keep people out. It was built to keep people in. Just a little different. People in East Germany who tried to escape rarely made it, as there were always armed guards at the wall. See the difference? If not, read a history book about that era.
