Reader Opinion: CAIR deceives CLC

The CAIR speaker at CLC was asked why the audience should believe anything he says, since the Quran commands Muslims to lie to non-believers in defense of Islam.

The CAIR speaker at CLC was asked why the audience should believe anything he says, since the Quran commands Muslims to lie to non-believers in defense of Islam.

His response: He doesn't speak for Muslims or Islam and we don't have to believe anything he says. He admitted the Quran has verses suggesting one thing, but later verses suggest another, contradictory action.

He's studied the Quran for years, then claims not to speak for Islam?

He never indicated the original question (why should anyone believe him) was a false premise. He didn't answer because it isn't a false premise.

He claimed ignorance causes Islamophobia, and it is but an irrational fear of Islam causing this "phenomenon."

Actually, Islamophobia is merely a convenient slur used to label and negate people who question the motives of similar organizations.

He crafted his comments to distract and answered questions deceitfully. He claimed the violent ones among any religious perpetrators were either mentally ill or deranged. He said this implying that all acts of Islamic terror are solely the acts of deranged or mentally ill Muslims.

He didn't attribute recent violent acts to "radical Islam" or "Islamic extremism" that is routinely preached in Mosques.

He said only certain verses of the Quran are used by "terrorists" to recruit Muslims.

He wants us to believe that all young Muslims are ignorant and not inclined to recognize the context of the Quran preached to them daily. He said it's their ignorance, along with our own, that is responsible for the rise in Islamophobia in this country.

In reality, "Islamophobia" exists merely as cover to extinguish legitimate questions and concerns about the very real threat that Sharia law represents to the United States Constitution.

Religious tolerance is one thing. Creating a new and ruthless theocracy is another.
