I too found it distasteful for Mrs. Lyscio's "Missing John Ward" letter. It was a personal attack on a man and his children during a time of celebration. The evident disdain she expressed for a family's decision to do what they think is best for their kids by not participating in our public

schools is no one's business but the family. There are many families utilizing alternatives to public education; her husband, Mr. Lyscio directs one of those alternatives. Wonder if she feels the same about them? There was no purpose for this letter other than to take a cheap shot at Mr. Heintzeman.

I, too, have been an outspoken critic of our educational system and have never pointed out any one person for its troubles. I do not believe that anyone working to educate children is out to do any harm; I simply disagree with how the bureaucratic system operates, as does our community, which is one of the topics Josh Heintzeman was elected to address.

This is a prime example of why families seek alternatives to public education. The notion that this educator would brazenly disrespect a man and his family while supposedly emulating tolerance for your children to model should make all of us "a tad uncomfortable." These actions are detrimental to the district and respectful dialogue. Josh will represent all in his

district, not just the ones who voted for him and wish him much success.
