The DNR tells us they need to increase license fees because they're short of money. I own two boats, both registered with the DNR, a run-about and a pontoon boat. I recently received a mailing from the DNR: an expensive, four-color brochure and three-four color decals. These deal with boats with enclosed, occupancy compartments and carbon monoxide. Now neither of my boats has an enclosed cabin and the DNR knows that. Multiply the costs to thousands of other boaters in the same situation. The DNR doesn't need more money-they just need to spend their existing funds more wisely.
