If you are going to vote for someone only because he "seems to be a nice person" or "he's a family man" please don't vote. Everyone is a nice person and a nice family man, but what of his/her party? What does his/her party platform have in store for you? If you don't know, stay home, do your country a favor.
If you base your vote on what you see in the negative ads on TV, please stay home next Tuesday. If you don't know who's paying for those ads and why they are paying for those ads, don't vote. You should know that corporations give money to politicians in return for their support; they don't give money to candidates who will threaten their profits. Those profits come from you and me.
If you insist on voting then you should be able to answer some simple questions. What party has traditionally supported the middle and working class? What party is mainly for the ultra rich? Which party will support the rights of women? Which party has said openly it intends to cut Medicare and Social Security to "balance the budget?" Which party will vote in favor of drug and insurance companies over the interests of the people? Who guarantees that "preexisting conditions" won't keep you from being insurable at a reasonable cost? Which party has already thrown people with preexisting conditions under the bus?
We can have the government we deserve or the government only money can buy. You get to choose. Choose wisely.
