The Brainerd Public Library is so important to all ages, from young children to senior citizens. Cutting funding for this extremely vital asset to our community would be a huge mistake.
The benefits a library provides are difficult to measure. Sometimes the influence it has on people's lives will show up years later.
When I was young there was no library in our small town so our mother drove us to Fargo every Saturday to check out books. It was the best day of the week for me. This was before television or even movies where we lived. Books opened up a whole new world for my sister and me.
Let's contact our city council members to please continue to support the Brainerd Public Library with increased funding in 2016!
