Honesty and kindness are two things that seem to have sort of drifted away in our world, which seems to be becoming more and more corrupt all the time. The flip side of the coin is acknowledging the two issues also has drifted out of our lives.
I want to acknowledge a deed that was done for me yesterday for which I am so grateful. I am fairly new in this area so not well acquainted with businesses but I got a coupon in the mail for an oil change at Heartland Tire. The gentleman who took the call was very nice and on arrival I was treated well. I told him I had a light on the dash saying service engine soon. I told him to ignore, it had been on for about three years and it was from the gas cap being loose and they wanted $75 to fix it. I could not afford that. In about 20 minutes my car was ready for me. The price with my coupon was about $6 less than usual.
When I got into my car I realized the floor had been vacuumed and a paper was laying on the floor on the driver's side to cover the mat. I also saw the man cover the seat with plastic before he got in the car. I also noticed the light on my dash was off, so I checked and here my gas cap problem had been fixed free of charge for me. This amazed me as all this time they were always telling me they would fix it but wanted big bucks to do it.
So you see, thank you is important and recognition to a business in our town that walks the second mile for an elderly widow means a lot.
