Are you a Brainerd resident or business owner who has had enough of bad leadership and failure? Are you tired of higher taxes and fewer services, no full-time fire department, our city falling behind while others throughout the state move ahead? Are you tired of driving through nearby cities, Little Falls, Wadena, Fergus Falls, and seeing their downtowns thriving while ours is struggling? Do you wonder why Brainerd was an economic and social leader in northern Minnesota 50 years ago but now leads only in poverty and unemployment, usually having the highest unemployment rate of any city in the state and being the poorest city in the state according to some national ratings. Do you wonder why the city spends millions of dollars on questionable road projects, and is proposing to spend additional money to keep South Sixth Street wider than it needs to be. If you are tired of Brainerd falling behind due to bad leadership please come to a public meeting Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Brainerd Public Library. All are welcome, share your thoughts about how Brainerd can do better, and join with others to make it happen. Most residents and business owners want Brainerd to be a leader again, together we can make it happen.
