Fantastic is the only word to describe the overall plan and execution of Brainerd History Week. It is the talk of the town and even more will participate next year. My regret is I only made it to two events.
Rick Fargo at the "new" NP Center did an excellent job, telling the history, citing the improvements and cooperation from the city to make a landmark serve as viable space in this century. We were introduced to most all of the occupants who gave nice, short presentations on their business and why they chose the NP Center. Great repurposing.
The "new" BIC, or Brainerd Industrial Center, being carved out of the Potlatch/Wausau paper mill was very interesting, too. Caverns of space and some paper mill machines still to be seen. I was sad to leave early and miss the hydro dam tour and learn more history but a political insert in the agenda sent me home early.
Keep up the great work. Thank you for a wonderful series of events.
