Reader Opinion: Honored to vote for Goddard

I attended the Crow Wing County Sheriff's forum on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, when Pat Pickar mentioned working under several sheriffs, including Sheriff Ross. My Husband, Dick Ross, hired both Deputy Pickar and Capt. Scott Goddard.

I know that Dick saw unique leadership abilities in Scott Goddard. I know he was extremely proud of Scott's impeccable work ethic and his continued rise through the ranks to his current position of captain.

Under the leadership of the current Sheriff Todd Dahl, there is a reason why Captain Goddard has been promoted and Deputy Pickar has not.

Dick himself rose through the ranks from deputy to chief deputy under Sheriff Chuck Warnberg and was then elected as sheriff of Crow Wing County.

I am honored to have the opportunity to vote for Scott Goddard, who has the same leadership qualities and experience as Sheriff Dahl and my Husband, Dick Ross.
