Look at all the pictures of the Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, drug cartel and Bangladesh people (Getty images) and you will see what open borders looks like. The citizens in border states are concerned with the infiltration of the drug cartel and ISIS.
Bangladesh nationals are increasingly crossing from Mexico into Laredo, Texas. They pay $27,000-plus to smugglers for the trip to our border. In Bangladesh, there are young militants which include young women. A female suicide bomber blew up herself and her daughter. I saw pictures of many young men, a small number of families, small children with no families walking, riding in cars, trucks and railcars. The U.S. gives the three main countries $500 million each year and we wonder where that goes.
Whoever is advising the caravan members is advising them to break immigration laws. When a person is seeking asylum they must claim asylum in the first safe country they reach. (Center for Immigration Studies).
Some in the caravan are burning the American flag while waving the Honduran flag. Of course, I know we are all immigrants but, the caravan isn't safe for the people and it is an illegal way of entry. This isn't fair to the legal immigrants who waited in line and did the process legally.
There are differences between high-skilled and low-skilled immigrants and how these two types of immigrants affect the economy, labor markets and citizens differently. The cost and benefits of immigrants depends on the county they live in. A rural county with an abundance of low-skilled workers would be in competition with low-skilled immigrants. (Cato Institute).
