In response to the Crow Wing County Board approving the acquisition of purchasing land for right of way on County Road 13, I know our county board believes that their hired engineers are the almighty know-it-alls. Well I am here to tell you that just isn't so. I have lived on County Road 13 majority of my life, and the only water I see standing is on the east end, and only for a week or two in the spring until the frost goes out. And then where there is a spot of lowland, where one person lives, this is where the culvert runs under the road from north to south which is to let the water flow farther north towards Johnson and Garden lakes. I also see no sense in making the road this great wide road on the east half, then narrow down to curb and gutter by Lake Hubert, then they aren't going to require the 100-foot right of way beyond that to Highway 371. As the west half of the road isn't funded with government money, they don't have to follow the state requirements. How the heck can they shove the eminent domain threat at us, when they only have an incomplete plan. It's ridiculous!
