Having recently attended the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza on Gull Lake, I found it appalling as the contest ended I observed a number of people dumping their minnows down the ice holes as they left the ice. I'm guessing a number of these contestants purchased their bait in their local towns, maybe out of state? There use to be collection tanks for unwanted bait but I didn't see any this year. Perhaps our local conservation officers could watch for this violation in the upcoming contests.
