On Thursday I attended a presentation by a CAIR representative at Central Lakes College. Mr. Hussein seemed like a easy going fellow as he explained that jihad only means struggle, infidel is not an Arab word, and Sharia law is subservient to our laws. According to him the only problem here is that islamophobes are attacking innocent muslims. No mention is made of radical Islamic terrorists attacking Christians, or the Paris or San Bernardino innocents. And of course there was no mention of women's rights and no denouncement of ISIS atrocities.
We were not allowed to voice our questions. We wrote them down and turned them in. That way he could answer only those he wished to. Mr. Hussein answered only a few questions, the easy ones. The was a question about the sixth pillar of Islam. He said there are only five pillars. You might want look up the definition of the sixth pillar.
Like everything, there are two sides to every issue. If CLC wants to be fair, maybe they should consider bringing in another speaker, maybe David Horowitz, Usama Dakdok or Brigitte Gabriel. Everyone I talked to after the meeting felt it had been a waste of time. Too bad it has to be so one sided.
