Well it truly is a shame that nine of 87 Minnesota counties gave our electoral votes to Hillary Clinton. Maybe someday the Electoral College can be shifted down to the county level so our election results reflect the intentions of those rich, nasty, white, Christian, heterosexual males that founded this country.
In the meantime this country needs to rev up its economic engine. The time tested and proven method to do that is to free up a little thing called disposable income for average people. There are three areas to make that happen-taxes, energy costs, and now, unfortunately, health care.
The proof of economic success and growth exists back when President Reagan cut taxes and growth took off, you can look it up. I say eliminate corporate taxes completely.
Energy prices have a huge impact. How many people are going to quit driving to work, shopping or chasing your kids around for their activities? How many people are going to quit using electricity or heating their home? Lower energy bills are a key component to freeing up that disposable income to get our economy moving. We have one of the largest oil deposits 500 miles from Brainerd and our U.S. legislators can't get us $.99 a gallon gas. Hmmm.
And then there is Obamacare. That great, save-all insurance plan giving "free" insurance paid for by the working class. Someone has to pay the medical costs for 4,000 drug dealing, gunshot victims in Chicago? I'm certain they don't carry their own health insurance. Could you imagine the cost of the premium for being a drug dealer? I'm betting they don't file a tax return for their drug dealing income, which means they've escaped the Obama penalty tax for not having health insurance as well.
