Are you aware of how lucky you are to be spending August in Brainerd? That is the month that we become a big city with mega-talent performances in Tornstrom Auditorium. The Lakes Area Music Festival begins its 2016 season July 31 with a community concert featuring lakes area talent. From that day on, every Sunday afternoon and Wednesday evening Tornstrom becomes electric with classical favorites from Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" on Aug. 3 through Bach, Ravel, Mozart and the entire gamut of well loved music performed by musicians from all over the country as well as members of the Minnesota Orchestra. The best part is that our own Scott Lykins and his friend J. Taylor Ward have been bringing us this music, each year expanding the repertoire. They have somehow brought opera to Tornstrom and this year ballet! You will find each performance unique and exceptional. Don't miss any of it.
