While Bob and I have had a few disagreements, I have come to the realization that he is under the thumb of Crow Wing County Social Services. He is very limited in those things he can do to help. While Crow Wing County gets the monies allotted for his budget, they restrict Mr. Nelson in his actions. I was forced to go over his head to get things done because of the limits put on him. Give him the money and let him run his camp the way he knows it should be run. Crow Wing County has put many veterans in a bind. We were told with low income we qualified for help with our Medicare. That didn't last very long as Crow Wing County "lost" the paperwork that was turned in. Many veterans were hurt with that move. Mr. Nelson gets all the blame! Sorry Bob, time for my soapbox now. Let him do his job and get Crow Wing County out of the VA business. Give him back his funding. Other counties have done this
and have done better than they have in a long time. Seems there is about $87,000,000 paid to veterans on a monthly basis in Minnesota. Seems like another ploy to get our money.
