I read with interest the article in the Dispatch about the public hearing on the North Forestview Project in Baxter. It sounds as though there was a significant amount of information discussed and shared on this project. My question is, why weren't the property owners on the south end of the Forestview project notified about this meeting? I understand that the law requires notification to only those that are property owners where the project is taking place, but I suggest that the property owners on the other half of the project have a significant interest in the information presented. Those folks may also like to have some input as to the project moving forward. I would ask the city of Baxter staff, mayor and city councilors to notify all of the residents affected by the total Forestview project of any future meetings discussions on this project, even though it is presently a multi year project.
Furthermore, I would suggest to anyone that has property in the total Forestview project that you stay informed and let your elected officials along with the city staff know your feelings and input about all aspects of the Forestview Project, i.e. scope, assessments, paving, city water, city sewer, etc. I understand it will take a four-fifths vote of the City Council to move this project forward, so be sure to let the mayor and city council members know of your feelings about this project. If you can not attend meetings, you can submit a letter to be read and shared at any of the meetings to let your opinion be known. Don't wait until everything is decided to let your voice be heard.
