While visiting our grandkids at Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina our son-in-law invited me to the 2017 National Prayer Lunch on May 23 at the Charleston Club on base. It was a very somber, patriotic experience. There were prayers for our nation, leaders, military, first responders, firemen and law enforcement. The speaker was retired Lt. Col. David Grossman. He was an Airborne Ranger. He talked about our great nation, its history, the warriors of America as listed above and how a generation without doctors, engineers, business owners, etc., would make life tough, but without the "warriors who are willing to confront human aggression every day, within the span of that generation we would truly be both damned and doomed." Everyone in attendance received a copy of his book "On Combat" dealing with the horrors of killing, battle and how to train your mind for this experience and the book also helps one deal with PTSD. Praise the lord for these warriors. PS-144:1 "Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle." God bless America! So where would America be without these warriors who have fought for our country?
