I am writing in response to the "Guest Opinion: Are beer sales necessary at the fair" dated Jan. 12, 2015.
I would like to clarify the official position of the Mothers Against Drunk\ Driving (MADD) organization as it relates to the sale of alcohol: MADD does not have a position on how alcohol is sold, as long as it is only sold to those who are 21 and over.
MADD's mission is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking.
The purpose of this letter to ensure your publication notes MADD's official stance on the sale of alcohol.
