In the aftermath of the mass shooting at the Florida high school, Donald Trump, the Republicans, and the NRA all want to focus on and blame again the "mental health" of the shooter as the cause of the shooting, just as they have for every other mass shooting.
In their rush to assess blame, they either ignore or overlook one important thing: More women in our country are diagnosed with mental illnesses than men.
Can anyone point out any instance of a mass shooting in which the perpetrator was a woman? If mental illness is supposedly the reason that mass shootings occur, then shouldn't a proportional percentage of the shooters be women?
I think the GOP needs to look for a different cause to blame.
